music
I write music listening; listening for an innateness, a this-ness; a "beast shouting" as Mary Oliver wrote: "...there is still somewhere deep within you, a beast shouting that the earth is exactly what it wanted...." I listen to the earth and I listen to what is within me and find at my most joyous moments that there is nothing very different about the two. Listening to the momentary and fleeting beauty of the sensuality of sounds can reveal a beast breathing deep within us that is at home in the face of reality. My hope is that my work reflects this kind of listening.
I have studied at the University of North Texas under Dr. Panayiotis Kokoras, and Dr. Kirsten Broberg, as well as at Baylor University under Dr. Scott McAllister.
My music has been showcased at the Mise-En Music Festival New York City, NY, the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, the National Student Electronic Music Event Bowling Green, OH, the Electronic LaTex Music Festival, Denton, TX, and the Valencia International Performance Academy and Festival, Valencia, Spain.
